Have you seen this one side of a nickel?
It doesn’t have any other side.
It’s just… the face of a nickel with harsh strokes on one side and a blank surface on the other.
This one side of the nickel doesn’t have anything fulfilling on it.
Not a purpose.
Not a story.
Not a goal.
Not even a price.
It’s just one side.
It’s worthless.
People keep looking at it, tossing it, or throwing it to the side.
It’s always a lonely, sad, dusty nickel.
You never collect a nickel.
You never, ever need a nickel.
Even when you think you’ll pick it up and bring it somewhere,
you change your mind.
And you toss it again.
Because… it’s just a nickel.
And you never, ever need one.
It doesn’t bring anything to your life.
Because it’s just a lonely, sad, dusty nickel.
But a nickel is just a nickel.
It can’t do anything. It won’t do anything.
Its existence goes unnoticed by anyone.
And no one is wrong for not wanting a nickel in their life.
Because they choose shinier, more valuable things.
The nickel just has too many hopes.
Its own foolishness is what destroys it.
